A TENDER HEART

We find each other again, after a long separation. You made sweet, passionate love to me, touching me, kissing me, holding me close. You tell me you love me, and I say the same, both meaning it with all our hearts.

We promise never to hurt each other in any way, and yet...there is a nagging doubt.

I wait for you, leaving notes to let you know I thought of you. I place roses on your pillow to show my affection, and have received no reply, no response, of late.

I miss you, my love. I look for you, and you are not to be found. You appear as if from nowhere, only to disappear as quickly. My heart aches with need for you to tell me you love me, my ears long to hear your voice, my arms waiting to hold you, my lips to kiss yours.

Do you still want me? Do you still love me? Where do we stand? Do you hold back for a reason? Are you avoiding me because of someone else? Someone in my life? Yours?
